York Children’s Social Care are currently seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced Social Worker to join our Advanced Practitioner team. We are offering a 12 month fixed term contract to an experienced social worker who is ready to progress their career to the next level.
The advanced practitioner roll in York has been developed to support improvements in social work practice, support the development and implementation of our quality assurance framework and provide specific support and mentoring to our ASYE and practice educator cohort. The post holder will be a member of a small group of AP’s working across Children’s Services to drive forward practice initiatives. Within the roll there is also opportunity to become involved in project work, for example supporting the implementation of systemic practice across children’s social care and multi-agency partners and the roll out of the York NAAS project. You will directly support a number of newly qualified colleagues through their ASYE year and beyond and support the development of practice education in York.

As this role is public facing, applicants will need to demonstrate, at interview, their competency to converse and provide advice and guidance to members of the public, in spoken English to CEFR level C1: Can express him/herself fluently and spontaneously, almost effortlessly. Only a conceptually difficult subject can hinder a natural, smooth flow of language.
