This is an opportunity for experienced social worker AMHPs to contribute to dynamic social work provision out of hours in the city of Leeds.  Leeds is fortunate to have an adult Emergency Duty Team which is well-established and supportive.  The team provides a high standard of social work and AMHP cover from 4:30pm until 8am Mondays to Fridays and 24-hour cover over weekends and bank-holidays.  We are wishing to develop further the presence and identity of a strong professional response out of hours by recruiting the equivalent of two full-time staff.

EDT is based at a centrally-located acute inpatient hospital, where there is a close working relationship with health colleagues.

The role involves responding to Care Management and Safeguarding emergencies and completing Mental Health Act assessments in a variety of settings.  The team has support from on-call senior management when required, and clear processes and systems to access appropriate resources to carry out the statutory functions of the council out-of-hours.

We would welcome applications from experienced social workers who are also practising AMHPs (job-share / part-time applicants welcome).

Salary: £35,745 – £38,890 plus 20% unsocial hours allowance plus 4 increments for AMHP practice, = £47,029.00 – £50,599.00

If you would like any further details or wish to discuss the role, please contact the EDT manager on 07595 210137 / Hazel.Gregory@leeds.gov.uk .
