As the next phase of our Improving Lives campaign begins, a new group of social workers in Yorkshire & the Humber have shared their stories to highlight what day-to-day social work practice is really like, and the difference it can make to vulnerable children and families across the region.

In the first of these, Laura Sowerby, a Children & Young People’s Social Worker at Barnsley Council, talks about her route into the field, the importance of looking for positives to build on, and how her role differs from what many people might expect.

You can read the full case study here. Over the next few weeks we’ll be releasing more stories from social workers across our region to help highlight the truth about social work, and why it is so essential.
