Children’s Social Work Matters (CSWM) is delighted to be sponsoring the ‘Newly Qualified Children’s Social Worker of the Year’ category at this years’ prestigious national Social Worker of the Year Awards.

Children’s Social Work really does matter and that’s why the 15 local authorities / trust across Yorkshire and the Humber came together to work in this unique way. Collectively we are tackling the misconceptions of CSW, raising the image of the profession and attracting more people in to a career in this challenging yet extremely rewarding role.

As a region we are committed to making Yorkshire and the Humber the most collaborative, supportive and rewarding place in which to enjoy a career as a children’s social worker (CSW). This is why we are particularly proud to sponsor the ‘Newly Qualified Children’s Social Worker of the Year’ award.

We have listened to our CSWs and have been determined to change things for the better. In recent years much work has been done to nurture, develop and support our social work workforce. We are now seeing the benefits of this investment through a growing confidence and resilience of our staff in delivering modern day social work practice. In turn, staff morale and belief in their ability to make a difference in children and families lives has improved immeasurably.

Our Children’s Social Work Matters, a key part of CSWM, is a private online resource supporting the learning and development of children’s social workers, lecturers and students across the whole of Yorkshire and the Humber. It provides a unique platform for members to talk with each other, share best practice and access key learning resources, including live monthly webinars.

By sharing a clear vision and best practice across the region, we are making it easier for social workers to make a difference in children’s lives. Together, we have made a pledge to CSWs to show what can be expected when working in Yorkshire and the Humber.
